Two properties do most of the differentiating, and neither appears in a vendor’s metrics sheet. Backlink types separate on whether a human editor made the decision to link, and whether the referring page has readers who might click. Everything else — attribute values, position, surrounding text — modifies those two rather than replacing them. A link nobody chose and nobody clicks is close to inert regardless of what the domain score says.
